Hi my name is Roger. I was born in Gloucestershire, and lived in a little village called Alvington. My childhood was rough. I was picked on in school and had a very rough time.
When i left school i went straight into a little job for a local joiner firm. I was wanting to follow in my dads footsteps. I was enrolled onto the YTS (youth training scheme) and i got 16.00 a week. I loved the job and it was great fun, however into my second year in College the firm was declaired bankcrupt. I was placed into the college print workshop because i really enjoyed working with computers. I was really good at lettersetting and doing graphic design. I done a computer course, now we are going back before the time of the internet and when it was online it was a service called Prestel which was like the teletext service on the tv. i went into a printing workshop and worked on the offset litho printers. I hated every minuet of the job. I ended up getting a placement in a local sub post office working with the owner to do graphic design. Then one day out of the blue my boss called me to one side and said that he would like me to run the subpost office for him. When i walked through the door it was a very cramped little office. I was told that this is a datestamp and this is a pension docket and just had to get on. There was no training i just had to get on with it. A few years later i bought the lease on the shop and post office, but was only there for a few years, then personal circustances and i had to sell the post office. I walked straight into a main post office where eventually i became the manager. My dad died in 1999, who i was very close to. It hit me like a ton of bricks, but at the start of 2000, i met up with my partner and this is where my journey through Kleeftra sydrome starts. I am now intouch with a large number of people all over the world who share the same frustration, fears, challenges and stresses on a day to day basis
The next few pages i will go through the day to day challenges that i face being a single dad, and having to look after two lovely, but very demanding boys which present as a very unknown chromosome disorder,
I am now a devoted dad which lots of daily challenges/Stress/Worry, but would not change my life for anything else
